To appear for the UGC NET JRF June 2023 Exam, candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: The candidate must have passed or appeared for a Master’s degree or equivalent in the relevant subject with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD/transgender candidates).
  • Age Limit: For JRF, the maximum age limit is 31 years as on 01 June 2023. However, there is no upper age limit for the NET exam.

Application Process of UGC NET JRF June 2023 Exam

The application process for the UGC NET JRF June 2023 Exam is entirely online. Candidates can apply by following the steps given below:

Exam Pattern of UGC NET JRF June 2023 Exam:

The UGC NET JRF June 2023 Exam consists of two papers. Both the papers will be conducted in an online mode. The duration of each paper is three hours, and each paper carries 100 marks.

Paper 1: The first paper is a general paper on teaching and research aptitude, which includes questions on reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness. There will be 50 objective type questions in this paper, each carrying two marks.

Paper 2: The second paper is subject-specific and consists of 100 objective type questions, each carrying two marks. Candidates are required to choose a subject of their choice from the list of subjects provided by the NTA.


The syllabus for the UGC NET JRF June 2023 Exam is divided into two parts. Paper 1 will consist of questions based on reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness. Pay Scale:

The pay scale for the post of Assistant Professor and JRF is based on the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission. The current pay scale for the post of Assistant Professor is between Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,82,400, while the pay scale for JRF is Rs. 31,000 per month.
